Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28/01/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how data is processed when you use imeicheck.com (the “Service”). “We”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of this Service.

Data we collect

  • Check data: identifiers you submit (e.g., IMEI, Serial Number) and the parameters needed to run a check.
  • Technical & usage data: IP address, device/browser information, cookies or similar identifiers, timestamps, pages/actions, and security logs.
  • Paid accounts & transactions: account identifiers, authentication logs, purchased credits/subscriptions, invoices/receipts, and support communications.

Payment card details are processed by payment providers. We do not intentionally store full payment card numbers on the Service.

How we use data

  • Provide and operate the Service, including generating check results you request.
  • Enforce free-check limits and prevent abuse (spam, bots, automated scraping, DDoS) and fraud.
  • Troubleshooting, auditing, internal reporting, and improving features and performance.
  • Analytics and AI/ML-based risk detection (for example: unusually frequent checks of the same identifier in a short time, especially from multiple countries, may trigger an informational warning such as “possible clone” or similar risk indicators).
  • Fraud intelligence: we analyze Service usage patterns and check data to build and improve anti-fraud detection signals (e.g., device clone indicators, abnormal check velocity, multi-region anomalies, resale-risk patterns).
  • Risk outputs: we may generate risk scores, warnings, and fraud indicators and display them to users or account holders as part of the Service.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Legal bases

Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more of the following: providing the Service and performing a contract with you (including paid checks), our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, service improvement and analytics), compliance with legal obligations, and consent (for certain cookies or optional features where consent is required).

Free Checks

When you use Free Checks, we process the identifier you submit and technical/usage data to run the check, apply rate limits, protect the Service, and detect abuse. We may derive and store risk signals (e.g., repetition indicators) for statistics and automated warnings.

Paid Checks

When you use Paid Checks (dashboard tools, credits/subscriptions), we store check history and results so you can access them, provide customer support, maintain auditability, and protect the integrity of the Service. Paid-check activity may also be used for analytics and service improvement.

Fraud intelligence service

The Service may include anti-fraud intelligence features built from aggregated usage patterns and check outcomes. These features help identify suspicious activity and reduce device-related fraud.

Automated analysis (profiling)

We may use automated systems (including machine learning) to detect abuse and generate risk signals (such as warnings, indicators, or risk scores). These outputs are informational and intended to support fraud prevention and safer transactions. They do not represent a guarantee or a definitive determination. Where applicable, you may request a review via the contact options available on the Service.

Sharing and disclosures

We share data only as needed to run the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, including:

  • Check suppliers / databases (required to perform checks): To perform a check, the identifier you submit (e.g., IMEI) may be transmitted to third-party data sources, industry databases, and their service providers. Some checks require such sharing (for example, blacklist services associated with GSMA). These third parties may process the identifier under their own terms and policies, and once received, their processing is outside our control.
  • Service providers (processors): hosting/infrastructure, security/anti-abuse providers, analytics tools, customer support tools, and payment providers, subject to contractual confidentiality and appropriate safeguards.
  • Fraud prevention partners / customers: we may share or make available fraud-related outputs (such as risk indicators, scores, and signals) derived from Service usage to help prevent fraud and improve device trust. We aim to share these outputs in aggregated, anonymised, or otherwise non-identifying form where feasible.
  • Legal and safety: where necessary to enforce our terms, protect users and the Service, or comply with law, court orders, or lawful requests.

We may also create aggregated and/or anonymised statistics, insights, and models derived from Service usage (designed not to identify individual users or devices) and may share or license these outputs to partners for research, security, market analysis, and commercial purposes.

We do not sell or license raw device identifier lists (such as IMEI/Serial) for commercial purposes.

International processing

Our suppliers and service providers may process data in different countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Data retention

  • Free Checks: we retain Free Check logs and related risk signals for as long as necessary to operate the Service, enforce limits, prevent abuse, perform security monitoring, auditing, analytics, and AI-based analysis, or to comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
  • Paid Checks: we retain paid check history and results while your account is active and thereafter for as long as necessary for customer support, auditing, security, dispute resolution, analytics, or legal compliance, unless the data is deleted where available or a longer retention is required by law.
  • Billing / financial records: are retained for as long as required by applicable accounting, tax, or legal obligations.
  • Security records: certain security and abuse-related data (for example, blocked IP addresses or fraud indicators) may be retained for extended periods where necessary to protect the Service and its users.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. You can submit requests using the contact options available on the website/dashboard. We may ask you to verify your request before acting on it.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, preferences, and (where enabled) analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any cookie controls made available on the Service.

Third-party anti-abuse tools (reCAPTCHA)

We may use Google reCAPTCHA to protect the Service from abuse. reCAPTCHA may collect device and usage information to help distinguish humans from bots. Google’s processing is governed by Google’s policies: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/terms

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Children

The Service is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates when the latest version took effect.
