"The encoded file ... has expired"

How DHRU fusion breaks your site to force you to pay 300 dollars for support:

Following multiple complaints about DHRU FUSION stopping working for no reason, we decided to make the problem known. The decoding market is in decline anyway, and there are more scammers than ever.

Brief analysis:

In our business we also used 2 DHRU fusion licenses, so we can explain the situation from our own perspective.

- For the first domain, We simply received the error out of the blue: 'Ioncube Error: The encoded file ... has expired".
Analyzing the IONCUBE documentation, we saw that the expiration date of the files was intentionally set to expire soon (see: https://www.ioncube.com/sa/USER-GUIDE.pdf / page 32/ 3.6.1 Expiring Files after a Period/Dates)


1. - Obviously, we contacted the support, explaining the situation, receiving the answer that we need to renew the support.

2. - We refused to pay for the support because we had a fairly new version of DHRU, and explained how according to the terms on the DHRU page:
"Download license includes a perpetual Dhru Fusion license, six months of access to product updates and support, which is optionally renewable... / Because your license is perpetual, you can continue using your Fusion license lifetime without an active product updates and support subscription. "
so, as long as the problem is on their side, we don't have to pay support to solve this problem!.

3. - After several discussions, they decided that they would fix my problem without paying extra, however, after this problem was solved, users could no longer log in - something they did not want to solve, and after 6 months of waiting we had to pay the support. :)

- For the 2nd domain, the tactic has been improved. That is, we started receiving HTTP ERROR 500 out of the blue.
After accessing the php log error, from cpanel, we saw that the error was the same, only that it no longer appeared explicitly on the page. So the technique was perfected, so that someone who has no idea, they wouldn't even know where the problem comes from.

So if a problem appears out of nowhere, related to Ioncube encryption, and you have not modified/damaged/edited/moved/touched the files in any way, THIS PROBLEM MUST BE RESOLVED FOR FREE

Update: After we contacted DHRU support, regarding the 2nd script that stopped working, and showed this post, they were very understanding, offering the functional version of dhru without paying extra. They also specified that there will be no need for other users to pay support to fix this problem. So good days
